Boston banks with sister banks in Salamanca, Spain?

Planning to study abroad for 4 months and would like to open an account so that my parents can deposit money while I'm abroad. Are there any banks in Boston that have sister banks in Salamanca, Spain?

I highly doubt there are American banks in Salamanca but you can open an account at a Spanish bank and your parents can transfer money from any account in the world.

You can take out money at cash dispensers if you have a card from your Boston bank, but it's not the cheapest alternative. Now if that is not a problem, it's the simplest way.

Tip: Forget about using American Express here, it's not so widely accepted, make sure you have a Visa or a Master Card and you'll have no problem.

You can access your bank accounts, using an ATM card, from anywhere in the world.

You don't need a special account, it just has to be an ATM card with wide usage. CIRRUS and Plus, I think, are the two biggest. You should check with YOUR bank, and ask if you can get a debit card on your existing account. Ask how much the transfer fees will be (they shouldn't be more than 3%, but you should be able to get them for 1% at your own bank.) You ought to get the best possible exchange rates that way, as well. You check to make sure there's an ATM in Salamanca (or many, actually) that you will be able to access your money through.

If all else fails, Banco de Santander is very international. I believe they have a connection to CHASE, but I'm not sure about that...again, do some research.
