Why are 8/10 of the most profitable companies banks or fossil fuel sellers? Why aren't innovators rewarded?

With the exception of Apple, and Volkswagon, all of the top ten most profitable companies are either banks, or energy companies. Why aren't the most profitable companies, the ones that make inventions that redefine the way we live our lives?

because banks have something we need and that is money so when we borrow they can not loose as they automaticaly achieve a profit as for energy companies we must pay them for our heat , light, fuel to run transport and on it goes they cant loose ,inventions will make a lot of money aswell but somebody will in time come up with an upgraded version of the one that exists and the existing one becomes outdated or obsolete therefor they cannot be guarented to stay profitable indefinate i hope this helps with your question good luck......martin
