Anyway, goober there has a point. We have oil, we don't take unnecessary risks with our money, we're conservative, and we are used to boom-and-bust cycles so a downturn in anything is just another opportunity to say, "next year will be better."
But the Bank of ND is unique, and has been a very good resource for our state. However, it isn't a regular bank, as you pointed out. You can't go an open an account there, and you can't apply for a mortgage loan. Therein lies the best part.
