idk I think Carlton is meant to be more of a stuck-up rich kid than an annoying nerd like Urkel.
1. yes they are socially-abnormal yet still fit in some ways
2. Carlton wasn't that smart, more immature/naive
3. Carlton mostly just annoys Will and vice-versa, the rest is like sibling rivalry
4. I don't know about that but again it's cus Carlton being rich he acquierd different taste and Steve is just, weird lol
