The original dept was a little over $ 250.00 . I have checks written that have not cleared . We made a deposit today and...

It will stay frozen until the debt is satisfied.

The creditor sent something called a "writ of garnishment" to your bank with the amount they are owed.
The creditor can only get this from filing paper work at a court if they won a judgment against you in court.

All your checks will bounce until the debt is paid.

I not sure if the people inside the individual branches, like the tellers, will say anything, because I think that info is only available to the collections part of the bank.

I went thru the same thing, but I took my money out just in time when I received a copy of the "writ"

GOOD LUCK
