If his will was filed with the county courthouse you can get a copy there. Chances are, if the account has had no activity in 15 years, then it has been closed and turned over to the city of Mobile as abandoned property. Google search the terms "escheatment" and "abandoned property" with and "Mobile, AL" to see if you can find the method that Alabama uses to deal with lost or abandoned bank accounts.
