What bank can I sell gold too and actually get my money's worth in Chicago? Im not looking to sell jewelry. I have a gold brick and need to know which bank I can sell it too and actually get it for what it's worth. Please leave detailed questions.

Commercial banks in the US very seldom deal in gold bullion. You would probably be better off selling to a coin shop. Assuming your bar has a well known hallmark on it, a reputable coin shop would pay 95% of the spot gold quote for it. Most coin shops will give you quotes over the phone as to what they are paying that moment (and bear in mind that during the last three weeks, a rise or fall of $50 per troy ounce during the course of a day hasn't been unusual. Today, gold was up $46.00.)

A gold brick? No legitimate bank would look at you unless you have legitimate documentary proof that the item is actually your property. How many people do you actually know with a gold brick?
