The straight line distance between the Outer Banks, NC and Berea, KY, is about 500 miles. Half way, or half distance would be about 250 miles and that is close to Greensboro, NC. Sorry I can't be more accurate than that, but I used aviation charts to get the straight line distance. It could be more or less because roads are not straight line.
