Route 12 through that area is open. I looked it up on the NC road conditions web site.
Here is a link where you will be able to find NC road conditions info. You can zoom in on the map and/or select areas or roads from the drop down boxes at the top to get specific info. The map is VERY cool and allows you to see DMV cams.
