Can I still get my funds from a school-based bank savings program from the 1950s?

We brought little bank books to school once a week for YEARS, and deposited funds in an account. Is it possible to check on the amount and receive those funds today? This was done in public school in Los Angeles, County, CA.

Probably. But it most likely won't be from the bank.

Any bank account that has had no customer-initiated activity for a period of time is turned over to the state as an unclaimed property. Most states have a 7 year period. After that, you have to file with the state to claim your money.

You can find out if you any unclaimed property in California through the following website.

Also it is a possibility that the money was withdrawn long ago. My mother withdrew my school savings to help pay for my first year of college.

I highly doubt it. Its legally decades past the legal limitation to claim it. Sorry
