IF you are a UK citizen, who is receiving a pension, you are VERY unlikely to get Canadian Government APPROVAL to live here.
Canada does NOT have a Immigration category for Seniors.
Canada is looking for younger , able bodied , persons, and their families, who are EMPLOYABLE, and who will PAY taxes into our economy, for many years, BEFORE they can retire here.
Not going to happen.

Yes you can. You will have to have your visa in hand and a social insurance number to open a bank account. Do you know that a British pension is frozen when you live in Canada? No inflation or cost of living expense rises.
