Check out Natwest, I did go with RBS because they were doing £100 for joining and that was nice.
I believe with Natwest you get a 5-year railcard which if you need to take the train which I did will save you LOADS. Plus most universities have a Natwest branch located inside them.
Check out sites like moneysupermarket.co.uk and compare all the offers to find one which suits you best.
Find an account with a big no interest overdraft which increases year by year and doesnt drop dramatically when you graduate.

I've got a student account with the RBS and it's really good. I know that sometimes they do special offers when you open an account with them i.e. £100 free if you switch.
They also give you an interest free overdraft of up to £1000 in your first year and you can get discounts on books/travel/tickets etc.

To be honest, the RBS is one of the best student bank accounts there is. They have an interest free overdraft of up to £2.500 and an interest rate of 2%.

Others you may consider are the haliifax with overdraft of £2.750 and 2%. And if you don't mind not having local branches you could use the internet bank smile. With overdraft of £2.000 and interest of 3.25%

hey , the best bank for student account has to be natwest. you can easily get large overdraft and student credit card. some offer on rail cards( good if u use trains). best of all if you go overdrawn or use ur overdraft you dont get charges!! No1 for students/graduates id say!! hope this helps.
