Fossil fuels are a finite resource upon which the modern commerce model is completely reliant.
As a major industry fossil fuel lobbyist suppress competitive alternatives that would reduce dependence on the resource so that they can profit on a tragedy of commons.
It may prove profitable for the few whom own the resources, but the consequences will be disastrous for the entire population.
You're right to a point.They are the ones that make the wheels go around., but what the people are pissed at is of all the money lost in the home mortgage fiasco and very few were prosecuted for it.They same people are still wheeling and dealing on wall street.and to top it off are getting million in retirement benefits for being a crook and screwing the public.So, they the government aren't the total blame.They didn't swindle the people out of their hard earned money.The people you are defending are the culprits,not all,but some.The people just want their pound of flesh for the injustice that's been done to them. Yes, Obama borrowed and put us deeper in debt,but the alliterative was the lemmings going over the cliff. That's you and I and I'm not ready to jump.We'll work our way out of this.It just will take time.Something the con's won't give and I don't think they have a better plan either.
Envy. Plus you have a bunch of people who think everything should be given to them rather than working for it like the people with wealth did. Over 80% of the wealthy in the US are self made unlike the old money wealthy in Europe. Nobody gave it to them. They earned it. For those of you who hate Capitalism or big business start thinking about everything you eat, wear, live in, sleep on, drive or ride it, type or text on, etc. each day. Those items were probably invented, developed and produced by big capitalist businesses.
Because they are making a profit off of the rest of us, and in the case of banks, they did not even do what they are suppose to, that is manage risks. That is why they lost that saving of the people who put their money in them and crashed the economy of the whole world
They government is not THEY, it is our government, we are not occupied by a foreign power.
Honestly, the acquisition of wealth is not a zero sum game.
I don't care about anyone's money but my own.
