Who exactly including US federal agencies have the legal right to look at anyone's bank and IRS tax records?

Why are Mitt Romney and Mrs. Romney so defensive about their tax records for the past 5 years? If they do not want anyone attacking them or making a big deal about their tax records if they release them as the Romneys' have been saying in recent interviews, this seems to me to say that they do have something...

In the context of your initial question, only the IRS has the " legal right to look at anyone's... IRS tax records", and then only to calculate the proper amount of taxes (and a felony if viewed for other purposes).

No Federal Agency has the "legal right to look at anyone's bank... records."

The only exception to the above is if it is done in the course of a government investigation for bank/tax fraud, and then it requires a court order.

Since Romney is not "President", he does not have to "give full disclosure of his financial worth and how many taxes he paid while he is in office."

Enough people that if there was anything wrong with them Obama would already know. He wants them public so his henchmen can go through them and pick out every little detail and demand it be explained. Something to keep the issue alive. YOU should be more concerned about why Obama won't release any of his school records.

their is no law for a presidential candidate to release tax records
