Each bank has it's good points and some bad as well. what you would want to look for are the following:
Find a checking account that pays interest even if your balance is at a minimum.(This way, all of the left over money from one month to the next will be growing at some rate or another).

Get free checking for the life of the account. You don't need to earn that extra interest and then give it away with loan shark type of fees!

Make sure they will accept direct deposits. This shouldn't be a problem since most banks do, but ask anyway.

Find out if they offer additional services at no cost or reduced costs to account holders. You may need something else from your bank, such as notary service, money orders, etc... If those are provided to account holders at no additional charge, you are home free!!

Don't be surprised if you won't find all of those services at the same bank, but it is a good guideline to go by.

Well wishes!!

Smart man ... admit this going in and you'll have a long, happy marraige!

Congrats!

Yes, let her pick the bank based on their colors! It should match the checks, which should match the bridesmaids gowns!

Since you will be turning over all your money to your dear wife let her pick the bank she wants.
