I would probably say Chase is best and most convenient for many. They have very good customer service. But really just depends on what works best for you.
Other good options are
Hibernia
Whitney
Capital One
Regions has large local presence but I would not recommend them they merged and now have awful service and many issues.
Capital One is essentially a local bank. Capital One wasn't in the banking business until they bought the New Orleans bank, Hibernia. They have a ton of locations throughout the area. I've been with Hibernia for twenty years and have not once had a problem with them. Plus, they don't charge if you do automatic downloads through Quicken. They also have many locations throughout the state.
But, like the other person stated, a lot of it depends upon what is convenient for you. At the end of the day, most people's biggest banking expense is ATM fees.
Whitney, Capital One, Chase....they all have locations around the city. Find out which one is closest to where you are usually and that's the most convenient one.
