First rule: Never use a bank or insurance company for investments (banks are "OK" if you're investing 5 million or more).
2nd rule:
The best banks are now "on-line", my two favorites are;

Both are FDIC insured. Both are rated very high for customer service. I haven't stepped into a bank for over 10 years & love it!!!!!!
