Don't go through TCF. Even though they are open on Sundays, their charges for everything are ridiculous. And I'm almost sure their online banking is shady!

Obviously I don't like them, but I did switch to Chase. With Chase, I got $100 for signing up, get bonus points for using my debit card, and they have various alerts (email, text, voicemail) for any type of activity on your account. Like overdrawing, or below a certain set limit. It's not bad. And if you are dumb and overdraw, they give you enough time to make a deposit or transfer without a fee! And the online banking is pretty quick and very easy to use and understand.

Good luck!

I much prefer Credit Unions. They are safer and you are a part owner. They generally have better loan rates and are often a little more flexible in their lending policies. If you don't have a Credit Union associated with your place of employment, I particularly like Premier Members FCU Credit Union.

I like Firstbank.

I had done banking at a number of others before, and was massively dissatisfied.

Firstbank takes good care of me, and treats me like the neighbor that I am.

(actually, one of the tellers lives across the street...so...)
