-onhis trail,anyway he has agood start until he comes to this bridge, right, theres a sign at it, it says Total weight not to exceed two hundred and twenty pounds. Cops are gaining ,he knows he himself weighs 215lb, ingots weigh 2lb each. now i dont have to work that one out for you boffins total weight201lb anyway...

Nope, I don't get it at all. Maybe he flattened out the gold and stood on the ingots so that his total weight was distributed along a greater surface area to decrease the pressure and his weight? He could have thrown up multiple times and then ran across the bridge.
