What do I think? I think Paulson and Bernanke and Bush are thugs and Ken Lewis is a corrupt and spineless moron. Did you see that guy answering questions? He looked like someone's senile old maid aunt stuttering and obfuscating before Congress. Lewis makes millions and runs a huge bank? Wow! The man can't give a coherent answer or take responsibility for anything he did or even say what happened. He looked like a blithering idiot.
And Amazing is right, it happened back in December. It was on The News Report with Jim Lehrer and there is a PBS special about it if you care to watch it. It was BEFORE OBAMA.
That Lewis guy sure looked scared testifying before Congress. Did the White House coerce him? "Oh, well, uh, I'm sure they thought they were doing the right things...."
Obviously those (relatively rich) CEOs have no courage. Might lose their jobs? If they had any guts they would have walked out and told the Bush Administration what it could do with the jobs.
But they didn't. They deserve their fate.

Will anyone stand up for me when my time comes? I don't expect that anyone will. But there's something government doesn't know about me. I have nothing to protect or lose. Hence no fear. I have the faith of a Jedi and the commitment. And when the time is right, there will be millions of me.
It stinks and it stunk under Bush too - not just Obama. I, along with the majority phoned our senators not to vote for the bailout, but they knew better than us lowly Americans - both McCain and Obama - so I didn't vote for either of them.

I honestly don't care. Bank of America has screwed over a lot of people, and they've been doing that for years, decades. I'd never bank with them. I bank with smaller regional banks.

I'm with klee. I use a local bank. The only business I have done with BOA was try to get them to cash a check with their name on it without an account and knew that it was no place for honest folks to be doing business.

Bank of America raised our interest rate from 9% to 23% in January. Our beacon score is well over 750, no late payments EVER!
