I'm planning to go to the Outer Banks this summer, and I need some help to get someone from New York to join me. I'm leaving from Asheville, NC. I'm trying to figure out which airport my guest should fly in from. I've heard Norfolk was a good airport to fly in for going to the outer banks, but...

No question about it. Since you're traveling from Asheville, have your friend land at Raleigh. Norfolk is certainly out of your way and traffic can be a pain from there to the Outer Banks.
