Outer Banks North Carolina?

I was wondering which one of these areas in North Carolina's outer banks is the "nicest" and what one would you avoid. We are a family of 7 looking to rent a home with a pool, hot tub and hopefully close to the beach and/or sound. -Corolla -Nags Head -Kill Devil Hills -Kitty Hawk -Duck Thank you

i live here on the east coast of NC and almost all those places are pretty nice, u can even try some of the beaches on the mainland that are just as nice and may be a bit cheaper than the places on the banks, try ocean isle, long, or if u want to go real cheap try holden beach.

southcarolina has a great beach called myrtle

My great grandparents used to live on the outer banks. I used to go visit every summer and we'd fish for crabs in the little inlet that ran thru their back yard. I can't remember the name of where they lived, but I've been to Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk plenty of times and always enjoyed it. I know I've been to Nags Head and Duck before too, but can't recall those trips. Don't know much about Corolla. Good luck. Be sure to take lots of bug spray with you, the mosquitoes there are fierce.

I can let you know after next week - we're headed to Southern Shores (between Duck and Kitty Hawk) for vacation - yipppeeee!!!

From talking with folks around here, one whose family used to own a place down there, they are all nice. I've heard that if you go over the bridge and go left (to Southern Shores, Duck, etc.) it's a little quieter (less traffic) and more expensive as you go north.

The biggest thing we noticed when booking our place was that the cost fluctuates considerably based on when you are going. We're going June 9-16, which is still sort of "pre-season", so we were able to get something reasonably priced. A week or two later though and the price virtually doubles.

(We didn't get the vacation/hurricane insurance because of when we're going, but we would have if we'd have been going any later - keep your fingers crossed for us.)

I can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've vacationed in Duck, N.C. and it is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and family oriented. We rented a house with 5 bedrooms for 15 people for a week and it was wonderful. Have a great vacation, no matter which you choose. Make sure you go out early in the morning to see the sun coming up and walk on the beach at night. It's so peaceful!! Watch out for the little crabs that are all over it at night.

I am from eastern NC (I now live in the mountains of western NC) and any of those places listed are great. I really like Nags Head myself, but any one of those you pick would be fun.
