National Parks between Ohio and The Outer Banks?

Share |

I'm traveling to the Outer Banks in September and I have off work two days before I can check I'm to my rental. I was considering driving down early. Are there any cool national parks or other locations worth stoping and camping at somewhere along the route from Ohio to the Outer Banks?

Shenandoah NP works

Then take I -64 from the southern end of Skyline Drive to Norfolk VA and then down the Outer Banks

Punk Rock and Minerals

Shenedoah is pretty much along the way
Cuyahoga National Park is in Ohio, right outside Cleveland
or you can take a slight detour to Mammoth Caves or the Great Smoky Mountains

Depends on which route you choose. But you can find info about all the national parks, national forests, etc. at the NPS website.
