Is the Champs Elysées situated on the Rive Gauche ( which means left bank...) side of the river Seine?
What other famous monuments can one visit on this side of the river?

Have a look at this map which will help you get your bearings.

The left bank is to the south, the right bank is to the north.
I just answered your other question with a list of sites on the rive gauche, but you can move very freely from the rive gauche to the rive droite by foot or public transport. Paris is not that large a city, and public transport is very good.

The map is an "unofficial" map - the site it is on is a site advertising a flat as indicated in the text just above the map. It is, however, an excellent map, showing the different arrondissements of Paris (areas) and the principle tourist attractions. Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements. Each one has its own town hall and its own postcode. The 1-4 are right in heart of Paris, on the right bank, the 5-7th are in the heart of Paris on the left bank, and they spiral out from the middle up to number 20.

Rive droite is in the north of rive gauche. Champs Elysées is on the rive droite, like Louvre, Sacré Cœur, Opéra, ...
