i believe yes, a church can offer such things - "if" they keep in alignment with God and keeping God first and not $$. It does say in the word that we "should lend and not borrow".

On another note, this could be good because they won't be taking advantage of people if their true calling is to the Lord. Many people can benifit from this and not just the lender.

Good question and God bless you..

Faith without works is dead.

The churches can speak about Christ all they want, however they need to be able to help others physically as well.

The two go hand in hand.

A few years back, when those giant San Diego fires were burning in southern California, my church let itself be a home for out of state volunteers who came to the area to help in the situation. This was obviously a good thing for my church to do and it would have been pointless for my pastor to just speak truth and not act it out.

If the church wants to be a community that meets the needs of people yes. In the Mennonite church we have a credit union and it is kinder and helps those in need.

People need a lot of help in dealing with financial matters. What would be wrong with a church helping people learn to manage their affairs?

As a christian I am telling you, don't trust the mega churches. At all. To answer your question, no. My church has a bank acount, but it does not have its own bank.

No! Why do you think Jesus kicked the money-changers out of the temple?

Most churches I know wouldn't stoop that low.

I suggest they avoid lending money over tables for fear of them being thrown over

If they want to help their people with more efficient banking, lol, then sure, why not.

Wouldn't it be funny to have a priest/abortionist?
