Rooftops, Deep in the Motherlode, can anyone tell me who influenced him; who could`ve, Wakeman and Emerson could`nt have had other than Classical influences,right?

You are correct in your assumption that Tony Banks' background was in classical music. His influences were wide-reaching. He has stated in interviews that, in addition to a wide array of classical people such as Richard Rodgers, Burt Bacharach and 1960s soul music, including Otis Redding.

EDIT: Bacharach also studied composition with Nadia Boulanger.
