If you want to change your coins to cash at washington mutual or bank of america, do you need to sort them out

Just wondering cuz i have a few dollars in coins and dont wanna use coinstar since they charge you money

I would ask the the branch where bank at. I have to disagree with the first answer that ALL banks have coin counters, they do not. In fact coin counters are noisy and outdated and few banks in CA have them in house.

If you bring in loose change unsorted they will bag it and ship it to a central vault for processing, and there is usually a fee.

The bank will give you coin wrappers for free, in which you must fill your coins into. Whatever left over change you have that does not fit into the coin wrappers will be accepted for cash.

if you're a member of that bank, not the branch just the bank, then it is free, but if you are not use the coinstar it's the same as what the bank charges

No, each bank should have a coin counter.

I would count it just to make sure that your number and their number are close though.
