If I file for bankruptcy in NE, can I keep my house in MO?

My husband and his ex-wife has a house in NE. She is current with the mortgage payment but the house will not sale. If something happens and they have to foreclose, can the bank in NE come after our new home in MO? I'm not on the house in NE with my husband and his ex-wife, however I will be named on the title...

Bankruptcy, in the US, is a Federal issue.

If your husband files for bankruptcy it will have to include ALL his assets, wherever they are.

A foreclosure, by the way, will not necessarily trigger bankruptcy.

Most likely if ur husbands name is on the title for the new and old house, the bank can come after your new home for compensation. That is, if there is no reconciliation.
