So whats the easiest way to get it now? Go through tax office or does the bank have the title? I'm in TX.

In Nevada when the lien is satisfied there is a spot for the lien holder to sign and then give you the title. They dont have to send it to the DMV. You can contact the bank and ask them for the title. If they do not have it go to the DMV and get a duplicate title. If the title still shows that there is a lien holder, you can get a lien holder satisfied affidavit that you can take to the DMV to get the title put in your name with lien satisfied.

If the bank still has the title, have them sign, stamp, notarize and give it to you.
If they don't still have it, they WILL still have a record of it. Ask them to send you a "lien satisfied" statement. With that, you can get the paperwork finished with the DMV.

THE BANK HAS TO SEND THE TITLE TO THE DMV TO RELEASE THE LIEN,THEN THE DMV SEND IT TO YOU AT THE ADDRESS ON THE TITLE.
