I need to cover a bank with either grass or ivy?

We have very bad soil on the bank. What kind of ivy if any should we get and how and when do you plant it...I need results fast due to soil erosion.

English ivy (helix hedera) is slow growing but beautiful in a few years . I've seen blue carpet juniper . pachysandra , or periwinkle vinca used on slopes too .

I'd say ivy. Among it'sa advantages it's in the top two plants for taking toxins out of the air (as tested by NASA) so you'd be doing it eco-friendly.

that pretty moss that has little flowers in it can grow about anywhere!go to ur garden supply store and ask them if they have it or call them just in case so u dont go there and have a wasted trip!

Check with GARDEN CENTER in your area. See what they have available. Talk with a retail- nursery if there are any in your area.

Do not BE AFRAID to use "non-native" plants for certain applications.
