Usually Bank P.O exams need

Average 50-60 percent score in graduation and/or pass in SSLC and +2
Exams are now conducted under a common platform IBPS. You should check out the site for more information. Also there are no specific books as such, but I would recommend R.S. Aggarwal for Quant. For english I would say Elementary English by Raymond Murphy
You must be graduate with 55% marks for Bank PO exam and any computer course or diploma is also required. There is a CWE(common written examination) exam for it. which organized by IBPS(Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection) two times with in a year. Firstly clear CWE exam then apply for interview.

Any UG or PG with 50 - 60 % it's depends on bank. You must have a Score card from CWE for more bank exams which is conducted by IBPS.
Resolved books available from book shops. IBPS announced about CWE exams.
Graduation is the education requirement and I think, there is a specification of minimum 50% marks too. There more than 100 books for preparation. Exams are held when there are vacancies.
