I need a bank account is there a safe way to do it online?I injured my foot so I can't really walk to the bank and I have no way of getting a ride. is there a way I can do it online without getting my identity stolen? I live in jamestown, ny and we have practically all the known type of banks . please help |
Bank websites are among the most secure on the web. Millions of people use them daily without any problems whatsoever.
The best way not to have your identity stolen is to use a good username/password combination that is unique to the bank site and would be impossible for anyone else to randomly guess. Don't keep it anywhere on your computer. Also, avoid downloading any trojans or malware that could steal a password, and run periodic scans for torjans or malware on your computer, as part of your general security.

In order to deter 'money mules' (a type of money laundering scheme), most banks require some physical presentation of yourself and some legit identity proof...so "...RED" is correct.
I would only add that if you're concerned about your money and Internet banking, do not use a Windows computer to do ANY of it...most people wouldn't know if their PC was infected with a banking Trojan no matter how diligent they think they are.

You still need to personally visit your bank before you can open an online banking account with them. This is because you need to present some identification papers; and fill up and sign some application forms.
Call one of your local banks and explain your problem. They probably can help you over the phone.
