Most credit unions offer fee rebates and enhanced interest rates if you maintain a certain amount in your account, have direct deposit, have a specified number of transactions each month, sign up for electronic statements, use on-line banking, etc. or various combinations of those. I dropped my RBFCU account once I sold the last of my real estate in San Antonio and I don't remember what they offered but they did have various breaks for regular users.

Have you been doing some business with them at some recent time other wise be very careful with some thing like this that just comes up as a deposit in your bank account at this time.
