You have 3 choices to cash ANY check.
1. The bank where YOU have an account.
2. The bank the check is drawn against.
3. A check cashing business that WILL charge you a fee.
Fleet Bank closed in 2000. How old is that check? Checks are only valid for 90 days. That may be why they won't cash it. You will need to contact where you got the check from. Be suspicious about a check on a closed bank from as far away from California as possible, it sounds fishy..
