They'll probably notify your boyfriend. Even if they call the authorities, there's nothing they can do to you. All your bf has to say is that he let you make the call with his full permission while he was beside you and then give them the reason that you did it for him.

I do this stuff for my boyfriend all the time. Most of the time they're fine with it. Sometimes they want to verify with him first with a security question or something, but everything official has to go through me because my bf really sucks at talking to people about important matters and I run all of it for him to keep him from overdrafting or getting charged unfairly. Honestly, he's really really clueless even at 56 years old. He also tends to mumble on the phone, so I do all of the speaking, banking, etc. All he has to do is give them permission to talk to me and that's that.

It's very unlikely that you have anything to worry about. There's not even a charge they can actually put on you since it doesn't sound as if you were after some shady money transfer or anything. Just have your b/f tell them that he gave you permission because...." and have him fill in the blank and you should be perfectly fine.

Please don't worry. You're not the first gf to handle banking matters for her bf. They probably already think this, but have to be extra cautious because of all the fraud going on in the world.

Take care.

If you said you weren't him, and would you like to speak to him? You said ok. If you had said, no I'm Jesse. Well that would have been a lie but you did say something like I'm calling for him, he's next to me.

You should have asked who will be notified.

They will probably notify our boyfriend that someone was trying to access his account information. Why didn't he just make the call himself? You didn't commit a crime since he knew what you were doing so you're off the hook legally.

They will notify Jesse. It's routine Identity theft protection. They are just doing their job in protecting his account. He needs to call them himself and not put you in uncomfortable situations.

Your ok. It's legal for you to access his account, with his permission. But banks are overly concerned with identity theft.
