There are several Bank of America locations in Lubbock. Also we have Wells Fargo.
I would definitely recommend AGAINST American State Bank, they act friendly and give you personal service, but they are sneaky with their fees. My grandmother has them and they charge her a returned statement fee every month, and we have to call and say "wait, we got the statement" and they take it off. Hoping people won't notice I guess.
Citybank (not Citibank) is probably the best LOCAL bank. You can also join the Texas Tech Credit Union if that is where you are coming to school, but I hear they have some problems with their debit cards.
I had the same problem. I went with Bank of America because for the most part, they are everywhere! I would research some banks in the area, check their fees also. :) Good luck!.
