I'm going on a 5 or 6 day trip to the Outer Banks! What should I do? What are fun activities?

I'm not looking to break the bank but I want to be able to experience a lot of cool things down there. I'm looking for anything from the best part of the beach to the best restaurant to anything! Thanks in advance (:

Well Megan the Outer Banks covers a lot of miles. Try to see the outdoor drama 'Lost Colony' in Manteo. It will give you a lot of the history of the area. See the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kill Devil Hills; it's amazing. You'll want to climb the big sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge state park - free and cool! You can climb the Corolla, Bodie Island and Hatteras Lighthouses. Hatteras is the coolest one. While visiting the Hatteras Lighthouse take the ferry from Hatteras Village over to Ocracoke Island (also free). It takes 40 minutes. Ocracoke Village is pretty unusual. They only have one school, K through 12. There are still sand roads there. Eating: you gotta try O'neal's Sea Harvest www.onealsseaharvest.com in Wanchese for lunch, Darrells www.darrellsseafood.com in Manteo is good, The Lone Cedar on the causeway between Nags head and Manteo is good, try Sam and Omies across from the pier in Nags Head and up the street is Owens (a little expensive but great food). Have a good trip.
