My favorite place in the Outer Banks is Ocracoke Island. I love the ferry ride to the island. In 2007 Lifeguard Beach on Ocracoke was named the best beach in the United States:

It is one of the barrier islands where the pirate Blackbeard is known to have once roamed. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore, with the Pamlico Sound on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other, its 16 miles of sun-swept wilderness beaches offer something for everyone. Whether you'd like to swim, fish, surf, or just improve your tan, this is the place to visit. Camping facilities are available with two local campgrounds as well as the National Park Service.

The quaint village of Ocracoke, on the island's southern soundside, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and includes the 1823 Ocracoke Lighthouse as well as several historic commercial building and over 100 homes. The British Cemetery, the Banker Ponies and dozens of unique shops provide the visitor with an interesting pastime.

We always stay in Corolla, it's one of my favorite places to be:)
Within Corolla, we usually either stay in Whalehead or the Currituck Club, both awesome in my opinion.
And this might sound creepy lol, but when we stay in an oceanside/oceanfront neighborhood, I like to ride my bike around the neighborhood at night and just look in all the lit-up houses, or just sit out on the porch at night and listen to the ocean, and everyone swimming in their pools, or doing the same thing we're doing, just sitting out on the decks.
My favorite place to eat is the 'Fishbone's Sunset Bar and Grille' in the town of duck. It's literally on top of the water (the sound) and it's just a really cool, colorful atmosphere.
We also like to go four-wheel driving on the beach up at the top of the island, and then we get out and go look for the wild mustangs...it's so amazing when you get to just see them.
Basically? I don't care what I'm doing there as long as I am there lol.
It's feels like a second home at this point in my life.
Oh, and bike-riding is a big thing for me, especially in The Currituck Club with all it's sidewalks.

and I'm about to try something new, I'm about to go to Hatteras with a friend, so that'll be fun!

anyway, yeah, that's basically it :D
