Gleaners doesn't necessarily give out food to individuals, but they work with a lot of partner agencies in southeast Detroit that do give out food to individuals. To find a partner agency near you, you can:
Visit www.Pantrynet.org, to locate a pantry near you. Just type in your zip code, radius (how many miles you are able to travel) and hit search for a complete listing. Make sure you take note of the days/times that each agency is open as they vary from location to location, and if you find one that fits your needs, give them a call before you go in. They can quickly discuss your opportunities over the phone and may be able to save you a wasted trip.
You can also dial 211 (from a landline) or call 1.800.552.1183 (from your cell phone). An operator will be happy to connect you to the nearest source of food assistance.
