Sorry, but you can't help today unless you have already gone to the organizations orientation and they expect you. You cannot just show up and say "Ta da! Here I am!" They have to make sure you understand the organization's policies, won't steal anything, won't take advantage of anyone, etc.
Call 211; they can connect you with the soup kitchen/food pantry. You can ask there if they can use your immediate help. Sometimes these organizations have some work that needs to be done. Hope this helps.
