Does your bank have a "No Hats" policy?

Share |

I work at a bank and we have a large number of people complaining about our "No Hats/Sunglasses" policy. Every bank that I've ever been to has had similar policies, but people claim that we are the only ones who have it. I'm curious to know what percentage of banks and credit unions have policies...

Most banks here in South MS have had that policy on their own for many years for security reasons (I've worked at 2 in the past). The ones that didn't ended up going to it a couple of years ago due to changes put in place by Homeland Security.

I would be willing to bet all banks are supposed to have this policy, due to the notices referencing Homeland Security that were posted at some banks here when they first started the no hats and sunglasses. I would also be willing to bet that the ones your customers say don't have it are just not enforcing it. I know when I go into the one where I was head teller for a while they never say anything about my sunglasses just because they know me so well.

(I know you said yes or no, but I felt compelled to explain, lol!)

I live in Australia and the only thing that I notice on the outside of our banks is a sign saying that you have to remove your motorbike helmet. Hats and sunglasses are fine but if you wore sunglasses inside any shop it would look weird.
