i used to go there all the time to camp, fish, and surf, but I havent been there since the mid 90's. i would check out the pier i linked. i think the pier used to be longer...might have been damaged by a hurricane. there is also a decent restaurant in the hotel next to the pier. as far as sightseeing goes the whole cape is really nice. if you have a 4x4 there are areas where you can drive out onto the beach, but be careful, it tends to be deserted out there in the fall and its easy to get stuck.
