Planning to buy a bank????

There are banks of every "color" in Athens. You can find Citibank as well if you must. The National Bank ( Ethniki) is the largest and has branches in New York, London etc. It is currently consolidating to get higher yields I suspect, and dealing there has been problematic and time consuming. Other private Greek banks and foreign ones as well are ususally more efficient.

It's the biggest Bank in Greece with banks a dime a dozen everywhere.

There are many banks with many branches, especially the National Bank, Eurobank and Alpha bank have many branches. They work as all the bamks in the rest of the world, but the opening times are 8.00-14.00, Mon-Fri, on Friday they may even close at 13.30.

Unless things have changed a whole lot, Greek Banking is a one way deal, that is, you can convert one way only. Dollars to Drachma.
