Not if they belong to the super sleuths at Troop D state police in CT. Those pencil pushers wouldn't even go into the store where the crook bought the smokes. We were standing right outside the smoke shop in Windham telling the cop what happened.

The cop DID go directly over to the bagel shop next door though. There must have been a crime taking place there. No bagel going into his hole.

Credit card fraud is a very serious and ever-growing problem that's generally handled through the FBI. What likely happened is the person using your card was either located outside of the United States, or shipped it to a 'dummy' address to something like an abandoned house or somewhere else that it could be picked up undetected.
There aren't many options for reporting the fraud, unfortunately. I trust that you've already reported it as lost or stolen to your credit card company? If you indeed lost or had your card stolen I would recommend contacting your local police department to report the theft.
If you still have physical possession of the card make sure you've closed it out. It's possible that an online database containing your card information (from a previous purchase you made) was compromised and used to place fraudulent charges.
Other than that, your only other real option is to file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center here: http://www.ic3.gov/
The Bank can request the area police to investigate and arrange arrest of the person who fraudulently charged your credit card.
Your Bank does not have police powers they can't arrest anyone. They cna however turn over evidence to the police who have juristiction. I believ the Secret Sevice is over credit card fraud. Don't expect them to investigate unless it was big bucks. They don't really ahve time to deal with all the little suff. that is why you are only liable for the first $50 if it is fraud and most bansk waive that anyway.

Yes, they can and will prosecute! It was dumb for someone to use it to ship to their address!! That has to be the DUMBEST criminal EVER!! HAHA, good for YOU, don't worry, they will catch the thief (won't be hard, just send a cruiser over to shipping address-ha!) and as long as you make a police report, you will not get charged for any "charges" the "thief" may have charged on your card.
THe bank have no right to arrest anyone, but their job to give u a redit balance on that item that you did not purchase, and you go the the sheriff department to report the incident. good luck
That would be identity theft and carries jail time upon conviction. I believe its a felony. The bank can't arrest anyone...but if you go to the police they'll get the scumbag...
THE BANK WILL NOT ARREST THEM...... but they are well connected with the police that will. Sounds like they can trace whatever was purchased...... which would in turn end up in them being arrested, yes!
