Best apartments that dont break the bank in Austin near UT campus?Im going to UT in the fall...i dont want to live in a dorm and i cant afford the student housing right next to campus where the individual rent for the bedroom starts at 750$....any suggestion fairly close to campus SAFE, clean? Or what neighborhoods to look in? I really want to stay at max $500/month...im looking... |
The Far West area could work for you. It has a lot of students, a shuttle, stores within walking distance; fairly quiet, very clean and a few gated places.
E. Riverside/Oltorf is probably the cheapest place to live, and it's clear why. I would only suggest the area as a last resort...it too has a shuttle and stores within walking distance (sorta).
3rd option could be the Metric Blvd/Gracy Farms area. I lived there a few years back and it was nice/big, gated, and cheap...but sorta removed from bus (no shuttle, you need to take city buses to get around and they kinda suck efficiency-wise) and grocery stores/pharmacies.
