If a bank account remains unused for long, it will be usually classified as a dormant account for security reasons. The bank will have to be care full in allowing a future transaction in the account. If remains so for further long period, it will be treated as an Inoperative account. This should be the case with a bank account in Bahrain also. Some times, the balance in the account may fall below the minimum balance that should be maintained, because of the bank charging administrative and other charges. Further fine may also be levied for not maintaining the minimum balance. All such things will erode your bank account balance completely. When you don't require the account for use anymore and when you have decided to leave Bahrain, it is better for you to close the bank account properly.
