There was a lot of trickery in "Swordfish" (2001), but I only saw it once and so long ago that I'm not sure if this would be the one. At least one or more people looked as if they had been killed but weren't, and there was a lot of commotion.

Sounds like "Employee of the Month" Did it have Matt Dillion and Christina Applegate who used to play Kelly Bundy on Married w/ Children? Only thing is nobody blew up in that movie people got shot though lol. Maybe you saw a movie called "Killing Zoe" that movie is older but I think it has a bank heist that gets messed up too.
