Of course you do. You can get basically any job you want with that background. However, in my view you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you have such precise outcomes in mind. I graduated from Harvard and was certainly not in the top 5%; it's very difficult to get in in the first place and be above average in the second place.

Just do your best and focus on learning about different career paths. That will lead to happiness. Maybe you'll discover that investment banking isn't for you--it wasn't for me, after I tried it.

Experience as a tax collector is hardly a recommendation for investment banker. Now, how well do you know the highest net worth citizens of India, the heads of India's largest corporations, etc? Who is on your list of prospective clients, do they know you & trust you, do business with you? And do you have contacts & connections in India's investment banks?
