The Abbotsford, Wis., community wanted their own bank, so in March 1968, AbbyBank was opened. The initial purpose of the bank was to provide independent, community-based financial services to Abbotsford and the surrounding area. AbbyBank currently provides deposit accounts, investment services and loan accounts. As AbbyBank prospered and grew, its board of directors wanted to return part of the profits to the surrounding communities that had contributed to its success. The board then established Abbotsford Story in 1985, as a charitable foundation where its community contributions could be made. Abbotsford Story has made donations to local schools, emergency and public services. Along with its Abbotsford location the bank operates a branch in Wausau, Wis.
