The SF Food Bank is not where individuals go to get food; it's a distribution center for food pantries, children's snack programs and soup kitchens.
If you're looking for a soup kitchen, St. Anthony's is at 150 Golden Gate Ave. (kind of a funky neighborhood), and here is a list of emergency food pantries and kitchens:

The food bank has no carry-out service. If you are doing community time you will need to contact the administration office for an appointment. They are very busy. The waiting list is 6 to 8 weeks for hours that are not popular.
